Scaling, RP, OHI continued blleding, furcation involvement.

Moderate to severe
periodontal disease.

Rationale: provide access to remove inaccessible residual plaque and calculus


following scaling and root planning.
Indications:

Access is needed for home treatment


Crowth lengthening

Contra:

Under controlled hypertension, diabetes


Inadequate plaque control
Anatomical limitations
Lack of cooperation by pt
Aesthetic considerations

POIG:
Over counter pain medications
Clean area gently: do not brush for first 24hrs post surgery. Brush top and sides
after 24hrs, avoid dressing. Remove dressing (perio pack) and sutures 1-2 weeks
after surgery. SPT 3 monthly.
