Exercise:
Aldebaran has Right Ascension 4h36m, declination +1631'.
What are its ecliptic coordinates?

First use
sin() = sin() cos() - cos() sin() sin()
where = 4h36m = 69.00, = 16.52, = 23.43
This gives = -5.45.
Now use
cos() cos() = cos() cos()
to obtain = 69.81.
So the ecliptic co-ordinates of Aldebaran are
= 69.81, = -5.45.
