HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS

Dear Laura,
Im sorry I havent written before but Ive been thinking about you a lot, as Ive been a bit
depressed the last few weeks.
At last Ive told my parents about Ryan!
You cant imagine how shocked they were when I said he was 10 years older than me.
They asked me about where he lived, what his family was, what he did for a living, what he
looked like, and many other questions that are not easy to answer, as you know. The worst came
when I told them he was Pakistani. My father blew up and shouted that he would never meet him,
no matter what happened. He stood up and went to bed. The next morning they told me I should
stop going out with Ryan if I wanted to live at home.
I think my parents would accept him if at least he had a good job but, as you know, it is rather
difficult to get a good job if you are a foreigner and we need money to get started.
It seems so complicated! Should I ignore my parents advice? Should I leave home and live with
him? Should I give up my studeies and look for a job? As you can see, Im very confused. I wont
be able to make up my mind if you dont help me. I love my parentes and I dont want to make
them suffer but nothing on earth will stop me.
