of imports or exports.

the active maintenance of a truce between


nations or communities, especially by an
international military force.

Peacemaking

Peacemaking is practical conflict


transformation focused upon establishing
equitable power relationships robust
enough to forestall future conflict, often
including the establishment of means of
agreeing on ethical decisions within a
community, or among parties, that had
previously engaged in inappropriate

Peace Enforcement

refers to the use of military assets to


enforce a peace against the will of the
parties to a conflict when, for instance, a
ceasefire has failed. Peace enforcement
often exceeds the capacity of
peacekeeping forces and is thus better
executed by more heavily armed forces.

Non governmental Organizational (NGO)

s a not-for-profit organization that is


independent from states and international
governmental organizations. They are
usually funded by donations but some
avoid formal funding altogether and are
run primarily by volunteers.

Global Village

the world considered as a single community


linked by telecommunications.
