To Whom It May Concern, Tam writing this letter of recommendation on. behalf of Joey Potvin. [have worked with Joey for three Sears as his advisory teacher, which has given me the Unique opportunity to get to know him NOt just as a student, but also as an individual, In that short time | have seen him ‘overcome challenges both academically. as Personallly, grow as a leader, and begin walking down a professional path that he is extremely excited, about Hoey is very determined in nearly everything U'V€ seen him do, and itis very inspirational. Be it with ‘Material in a class that he doesn’t understand initially, OF Working towards a personal goal, Joey approaches, situations very methodically and goal focused. Last Year personal situations arose that really challenged him, but he demonstrated a maturity beyond his years as he Worked to process the situation, Rather than being limited by his personal experiences, I believe Joey showed his ability to utilize them to make him a stronger and more supportive person for those around him, Through the advisory process Joey identified that he was interested in neuroscience- a field that is extremely competitive with very difficult material. With great determination Joey then started to research different colleges that offer neuroscience programs, he started identifying courses he needed to take to prepare for college, and seeking out opportunities that he could capitalize on to prepare himself. It was towards the end of his sophomore year that Joey told me excitedly that he had signed up to ride along with his community rescue squad. This demonstrated to me that not only is Joey passionate, but he is driven and focused. He now runs the Cambridge Rescue Cadet corps and is in charge of coordinating meetings and fund raisers, Joey is a strong person who has learned how to find success, and worked hard to do so. He has incredible potential, and I feel that his passion and determination will be an asset to any program.
