Description

Overall Purpose
Assist in Managing the Internal Audit team to ensure timely and
accurate delivery of complex technical Internal Audits at clients
sites in accordance with the Firms Internal Audit Standards.
Brief Job description
Responsibility for control, administration and recoveries of a small
portfolio of small, less complex clients. This responsibility includes
all strategic and operational audit planning, WIP control and
billing.

Prepare the Internal Audit Strategy for a selection of small, less


complex clients.

Manage, perform and control more complex internal audit


assignments.

Represent the Firm in audit matters as required, including


attendance at client meetings, Audit Committees and tender
presentations.

Produces high quality written reports on work undertaken and


ensures that team members produce satisfactory reports.

Produce Audit planning sheets and processes.

Carry out the Quality Assurance review of working papers and


draft reports.

Prepare progress and annual reports for Audit Committees.

Lead and supervise more junior team members on individual


assignments including technical audit guidance and providing
training as required.

Complete all work within agreed timescales and budgets, and to


the appropriate quality standard. Ensure that any variations to the
original budget are agreed with the relevant Manager.

Assist the Manager/Senior Manager in ensuring the assignments


are completed to time and budget.

Assist the Manager in dealing with day-to-day team matters,


feedback

Assist with on the job performance, assisting with conducting


appraisals, and where relevant the recruitment process.

Build relationships with clients and identify potential additional


work opportunities at existing clients.

Assist in practice development.

Manager/Senior Manager.

Support Managers/Senior Managers/Directors/Partners.

Effectively report to senior colleagues.

Organise and manage a small client portfolio.

Delegate work to more junior team members and provide ongoing feedback.

Maintain liaison with clients to ensure completion of assignments


is in line with planned timescales/budgets

Maintains high professional standards of conduct and practice.

Evidence of Internal Audit sector expertise development under the


guidance of more senior colleagues.

Reviews and controls the technical content of the work of others


to ensure compliance with the Internal Audit Manual.

Aware of relevant financial targets and constraints, and


contributes to achieving these keeping line manager informed of
progress.

Applies knowledge of the firm, industry, markets and core client


base, highlighting potential business opportunities to line
manager.

Undertakes ad hoc research projects.

Ensure client data is handled securely in accordance with the


Firms and clients data protection procedures.
Professionally qualified eg MIIA/ACCA/CCAB, or other specialist
skills/qualifications.

Proven Internal Audit experience

Driving licence (clean)

Confident and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Developing presentation skills.

Builds a small network of contacts internally and externally.

Service orientated: competent at identifying a range of client


needs.

Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively whilst


being flexible.
