Work Integrated ap BITS Pilani ™ Learning Programmes \XYBP Pian Dubai [Goa | Hyderak © M.Tech ey sse Ps) r= The discipline of embedded systems is a combination of computer science and electrical engineering. The four-semester M.Tech. Embedded Systems programme is essential for practising engineers in the embedded systems industry (automotive, avionics, consumer electronics, medical devices, defence, and processor design) who want to gain knowledge in state-of-the-art tools and theories. The core topics span over embedded control, real-time operating systems, model-based design and verification, processor architecture, chip design and implementation of embedded systems. @ PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS Enables students to gain a holistic approach to the design of embedded hardware and software systems * Provides practical insights into embedded system design through experiments using simulation software such as Kiel, Code Composer Studio, Star UML * Hardware and software design assignments and exercises help students gain practical knowledge ‘on Embedded System Design * Well-defined work integrated exercises to transform classroom learning into practice * Guided internship project to assimilate both technical and ‘execution knowledge * Allow the students to script the programme and its various modules to suit the requirement of their respective organisations © PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES The programme aims to create Embedded Designers who will be able to: * Design, describe, validate and optimise embedded electronic systems in different industrial applications Define hardware and software communication and control requirements and be able to effectively bridge the gap between hardware and software design in different industrial production contexts + To.use tools for the development and debugging of programmes implemented on microcontrollers and DSPs © LEARNING OUTCOMES * Design systems for real-time processing On completion of the programme, a participant Design systems that are fault-tolerant or will have the ability to: safety critical * Show an ability to integrate knowledge, in * ‘To develop, test & analyse new an independent way and with a critical eye, microarchitectures for embedded identify and constrain, formulate and processors ® handle complex problems within the area © ELIGIBILITY Bachelor of Engineering in EEE/ECE/ENI/ Computer Science or equivalent, with minimum one year of relevant work experience. To apply formal design methodology to optimise various aspects in the design embedded systems for industrial applications Apply knowledge of various embedded processor architectures in industrial automation and various other applications FEE STRUCTURE The following fees schedule is applicable for candidates seeking new admission during the academic. year 2016-17.
