Literal: A guy who is a sniper.


Symbolic: warrior, skilled. War, death.
Recognize and understand and understand the significance
of various literary devices, including figurative language,
imagery, allegory, and symbolism.

A 3rd person narrator because the story is n 3rd person.

I know this because there is no reason to believe otherwise.


There is no part in the short story that suggests that there
was a name able or different narrator.

The story takes place in dublin near O'Connell Bridge.


The story took place on a June night in 1922.
The story happened in just a few minutes.

Characters
The Protagonist is the sniper and he remains static and flat
throughout the story. He is a republican soldier in the irish
civil war. He snipes from a roof and is skillful with a rifle. He
knows what he is doing but is young.
The antagonist is war. War was static and flat. War caused
The sniper to kill his brother. War made people be worth
nothing. War causes death and fear.

The person who shot at The sniper when he was trying to


smoke- A warning sign.
The person driving the armored vehicle- danger is here.
His brother - war is cruel.
Gun turret guy- scare the sniper

Conflict

Trying to keep going, thinking have how to survive.


Trying to survive the enemy sniper and armored vehicle and
withstand the pain of getting shot in the arm.

Him versus the enemy sniper.

Plot
The sniper in on a roof in Dublin.

He gets shot at when he lights a cigar.


The armored vehicle comes.
The lady gives away his position.
Machine gun fire comes his way.
He gets shot in the arm.

When the enemy sniper hit the ground and lay still.

He goes to look at who he shot.


Machine guns fire at him.
He sees that he shot his brother.

Theme
War makes brother kill brother.
The theme of the sniper is that in war people just kill each
other even if they are close friends, even if they are brothers.
Because during al his bloodlust the sniper didnt realize he
was shooting at his own brother.
1. The first shot from an enemy. - In war danger
is everywhere.
2. The vehicle.- somethings cant easily be
defeated.
3. The women- Even civilians get caught in war.
4. The machine gunner on the vehicle- The best
weapons can still be taken down
5. His brother- War is cruel and brings people so
down that they will even kill family.
