PROCEDURE Storage: ‘All Grout material shall be stored in dry and weatherproof area prior to grouting. Grout material shall be kept in a separate storage and avoid exposure to environment. Preparation: - Surface preparation shall be made on the concrete surface (pedestal) to which the grout will bond. - By using a chipping gun or chipping hammer, chipped the concrete surface until it give a surface profile of a minimum and expose the course aggregates of the pedestal. _ The surface onto which the grout is to be applied should be scabbled to remove laitance and expose aggregate. _ The surface must be free of oil, dust, dirt, paint, curing compounds or other contaminants that could impair adhesion. ~ Cleaned the pedestal by air compressor to remove all dirt's and debris and unsound concrete to provide a rough surface for good bonding. ~ Check anchor bolts for any damages and deformation. Wrappediprotect the anchor bolts with masking tape for preservation, ‘nramco Overseas Company Method Statement For sre Grouting Works (IK) Contractor WASIT GAS PROGRAM Documents WMESTR-GOY Contract No. In cases that the anchor bolts has sleeve/pocket, filed the sleeve/pocket with elastomeric material or expanding urethane foam to prevent the annular space. Covered the pedestal and its surface to prevent from contamination. In cases that grouting will not take place. Using vendor suggested mixtures, grout the padding plate with enough volume as to settle the padding plates on the rough surface of the pedestal. Preparation should cover the full extent of the surface which is intended fo be in contact with the grout. Concrete foundations shall be cured for a minimum of 7 days before surface preparations for grouting ‘All surface and bolt pockets to receive grout must be clean and free of oil, dust, dirt, paint and residual curing compound. Use wire brush to re clean the affected areas. Only Mechanical/power mining is allowed for grout rise. ICE and source of water used for grout shall be tested. Formwork: The formwork will be of rigid construction plywood. Provide formwork on the periphery of the area to be grouted. Formwork should result in a grout edge having 50mm horizontal distance from the edges of the base plate. Formwork should be as water tight as practical, to prevent grout leakage and should be constructed in accordance with the shapes of the pedestals. Ensure the vertical distance between top of concrete and underside of base plate should be a minimum of 25mm. For large base plate pours or when the gap between the base plate and pedestal concrete is less than 25mm in depth, the formwork should be higher to allow a pressure head to build up. ‘A bond breaker shall be applied to the formwork that will be in contact with the grout On the pouring side, which should be the shortest distance across the base plate, a “hopper” should be constructed to allow a pressure head sufficient to enable grout to flow to the full width of the pour. The forms should be fixed with the top sloping away from the base plate at a 45° angle to form a slope down which the grout can be poured The formwork should be fixed to allow easy stripping without causing damage or stress to the grout, removed the formworks when the grout colour is stil green. If grout is to be pumped under pressure, formwork should be constructed to withstand the additional localized pressure, 6600026174 (IK)I6600026172(0OK) _| Fev No.:0 | Row Dato: 26" Jun 2012 Method Statement For sk a Grouting Works (IK) cosa ; romeo Overseas WASIT GAS PROGRAM Document Ne: WMS-STROO!
