Born and raised in the dangerous and chilly


swamps of the north, Grsk learned from a young
age that his own survival was what mattered. His
clan, small and close-knit due to their
circumstances, lived off the land as hunters and
gatherers. The strong would set off on hunts for big
game to feed the rest of the tribe, while the others
migrated from place to place in search of food from
other sources. Grsk, being a fresh addition to the
herd, was left to scavenge off of whatever scraps
the rest of the herd left him. Focused on his own
survival, he grew accustomed to eating anything
and everything.
In the cold and harsh winters, when food was
scarce, the weaklings in the tribe were culled and
eaten to provide sustenance for the strong. Grsk
grew wary of being the next meal to his own tribe,
so he made every effort to get stronger in any way
he could. He quickly rose through the ranks when
one evening on a hunt, he took down a mammoth
with nothing but his hands and his jaws. His kill
soon brought him fame amongst the herd, but sadly
that fame was short lived.
As his herd ventured farther north into the
mountains in search of their next meal, a storm
came fueled by the fury of the guardian of the
mountains they ventured into and all but wiped out
Grsk's tribe. Grsk and a few other survivors lived
off of the fresh corpses of their once loved ones as
they fled to find shelter.
By happenstance, a hunter from the nearest city
happened to be caught out in the storm as well.
Grsk and his fellows came upon him as he lay
starving and frostbitten in the cold. Having grown
short on food, Grsk's companions were happy to
have stumbled upon their next meal, but Grsk
objected. He took pity on the poor soul, and for the
first time in his life he turned his back on his tribe.
As his companions dived in for the kill, he beat them
bloody and left them lying in the snow just as the
man had been. The man thanked Grsk, and
offered to show him the way back to town. Grsk
obliged, and carried the man with him on his back.

CHARACTER BACKSTORY

His arrival at the port of the small fishing town startled the locals, who'd
never seen such a creature before. The guards took arms against him
and prepared to strike him down, but the man he'd carried back to town
objected meekly, as Grsk let him topple down off his back. The man
stood up and told the townsfolk the story of how Grsk saved his life
and the guards laid down their arms, though still wary of the newcomer.
Soon Grsk had assimilated into the town's culture, which was entirely
brand new to him. Although the town left it's mark on him, he'd left his
mark on the little town too. He took up a job as an entertainer, his act
involved him eating basically anything and everything, an easy task for
someone so adapted to it. People came from far and wide to see "The
Lizardman that Could Eat Anything". However, Grsk grew bored of this
new lifestyle after a few years, and set off on a journey of self-discovery,
returning to his old ways of migrating across the landscape, but now,
instead of searching for food, he was searching for a new tribe.
