ABSTRACT:

Folk arts are one of the best prestigious identity of our

country with various type of cultural arts in various
parts of the country. Among them the folk arts of
tamilnadu has a renowned place from the historical
periods. This thesis is an attempt to study about these
numerous cultural art forms of the state from roots to
and address their role in the current scenario of modern
developing environments. The main aim of the project
is to study the activities and the requirements of
various folk arts and reinterpret them in terms of
architectural spaces. In spite of its significance the
degradation of these art forms are also addressed and
solutions for promoting the growth and preservation of
them is also considered.
Thus it concludes to give the role of these arts in
various sector developments of our country especially
tourism, and to inculcate its value among the people to
enhance and emphasize the life of these artisans.
