January Newsletter

Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday
break. I enjoyed my time with my family, but ready to
start the New Year! Our curriculum this month will consist
of winter activities, color white, shape circle and will
introduce the letters V, W, and X. We will also work on
number 5.
We will have an Early Childhood Open House on
Thursday, January 12th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This is an
opportunity for new families to see what Wichita
Collegiate has to offer. For you, it is an opportunity to
explore other classrooms and to meet teachers your child
could have next year. If you have someone you would like
introduce to our school, please let me know so we can
send them information. I will also need 1-2 parent
volunteers to help in my classroom with the open house.
Please let me know if you are willing to help out.
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16th, as
we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Pioneer Day is Friday, January 27th, from 8:30-11:00
a.m. This is a terrific hands-on learning experience for
children as we celebrate Kansas. More information will be
sent home later, but activities are set up for the children
to explore in a group setting in the gym. If you signed up
at the beginning of school, you will be contacted, but
extra volunteers are needed to help so let me know if you
are interested or if you need to know if you signed up. If
you have any questions please let me know. My P.M. class
is invited to go with their parents. We will have normal
class that afternoon.

Looking ahead: parent/ teacher conferences coming

up first week in February. I will be posting sign-up sheet
for conference times soon.
