This time I rode with Steffen.
We both worked the start
control; I helped hand out
Brevet cards and Steffen
worked the Bike Check
station. The goal for me on
this ride was to take it as easy
as possible; the 400k is in a
week. The weather was
perfect: some sun, some
clouds very little wind and a
slight sprinkling of rain on the
final two miles. Highlights
included: putting more names
to faces while working the
start control; riding with SP is
always a pleasure; everything
is turning green; Lunch at
Stumptown Brewery along the
Russian River; The Sonoma
coast surf was glassy and
looked really good; Tomales
Bay at sunset with very little
wind; Riding and chatting with
3 BotH (Irving, Brian and Ian)
from Marshall to Fairfax; The
finish control volunteers that
were there until 01:00
checking riders in and who
carried so much food and
drink to the GGB on their
bikes.
