In the 4 days between 19 - 22 September in Mumbai, there will be more IB Professional Development

choices than ever before at one event in which about 300 participants from 16 countries would be
converging at Singapore International School and Grand Sarovar Premiere, Mumbai . The IB has joined
together with the Mumbai network to put on a MELA a Festival of IB workshops that cover topics from
Governance, Academic Honesty, Diploma, Middle Years and Primary Years targeted programme specific
workshops , seminars and panel discussions in the Parent and Community Forum, Coordinators Forum,
Regional Updates by the respective School Services Programme Managers, Interested Schools briefings
and Principals Meet , where the IB team will answer questions from teachers, parents and community
leaders. The IB Asia- Pacific Team led by Mr. Ian Chambers, Regional Director, IB Asia- Pacific and
workshop leaders drawn from worldwide will be in the city for this grand event with the goal to reach out to
all its stakeholders. At present 104 IB schools operate in India and there is a steady rise in their number
and the implementation of its 3 programmes. The largest number of IB schools in India are in Maharashtra
and most of them being in Mumbai.
