Responsibility for Qui 5.1 Responsibility for Inspection and Tests —Unless other- wise specified in the contract or purchase order. the producer is responsible for the performance of all inspection and test requirements specified herein. General Quality 6.1 Unless otherwise specified, the material shall be sup riled in the mill finish and shall be uniform as defined by the fication and shall be commercially sound. Any requirement not covered is subject to negotiation bewween producer and purchaser 6.2 Bach sheet and plate shall be examined to determine conformance to this specification with respect general and ientification marking. On approval of the pur however, the producer may use a system of statistical quality contol for such examinations 7. Chemie 7.1. Conformance shall be determined hy the producer by analyzing simples taken at the time the ingets are east, or samples taken from the finished or semifinished product. Other methods may be wsed only when no published ASTM method is available. The test need not be conducted unless specified on the purchase order. 12.2 Test Specimens— When bend tests are made, the speci- mens for sheet shall be the full thickness of the material approximately % in. in width, and when practical, af least 6 in in length, Such specimens may be taken in any direction and their edges may be rounded to a radius of approximately Yn in if desired. For sheet less than % in, in width, the specimens, should be the fll width of the materia 12.3 Test Methods—The bend! tests shall be made in aecor- dance with Test Mlethod E 290 except as stated otherwise i 122. 13, Stress-Corrosion Resistance 13.1 When specified on the purchase onder or contract, alloys 2124-TSS1, 2719-T8S1, and 2219-187 plate shall be subjected to the test specified in 13.3 and shall exhibit no ence of siress-corrosion cracking. One sample shall be taken from each parent plate in each lot and a minimum of three adjacent replicate specimens Fram this sample shall be tested. Retest and Rejection 19.1 If any material fails to conform to all ofthe applicable requirements of this specification, the inspection lot shall be rejected. 19.2 When there is evidence that failed specimen was not representative ofthe inspection lot and when no other sampling plan is provided or approved by the purchaser through th contract or purchase urder, at east two additional specimens shall be selected to replace each test specimen that failed.
