Dear Parents / Teachers, The Karuna Club and the Interact Club of our school are organizing a Blood Donation Camp on Thursday . the 26" January 2017 in our school premises between 8.30 a.m. and 01.30 p.m. The Camp will be organized by the Madras Voluntary Blood Bureau along with Global Hospitals, and all mandatory precautions will be taken, Icis needless to stress the importance of blood donation, as many of you may already be donating blood and know the value of doing so. You are requested to pass on this message to your friendselatives and to as many people as possble.However, for these who might be frst time donors, we have given certain parameters ast the eligibility of who can donate blood. This may not be exhaustive and if you have any doubis, please do consult your family doctor. for BALA VIDYA MANDIR Donor Selection Criteria and Information: + Donor shall be in good health. + Both males and females can donate. + Age: 18-60 years, Weight: >50 Kgs. + Should not donate for any of the following diseases: Chronic Asthma/Heart disease/Epilepsy/Cancer/Liver disease/Kidney disease/Hepatitis B or C infection/HIV infection/ Insulin for Diabetes + Individual on medication for the following diseases ean donate Diabetes and Blood Pressure with controlled sugar and Blood Pressure level Jaundice in last 3yrs/malay last 3 months can also donate. * Last dose of Antibiotic treatment to be completed at least 72 hours before donation. + Female donors should not donate blood up to one year after delivery and for 6 months after ‘an abortion, + Blood can be donated after 3 months of previous donation. Procedure for Blood Donation + The donor is expected to fill up the Donor Questionnaire and answer each of the questions. + A Medical Officer will discuss and clarify any doubts regarding the donor questionnaire and will conduct a basic physical examination, + Every donor will have finger prick sample taken for Hemoglobin estimation Only donors who fulfill the criteria for safe donation will be allowed to donate blood, Care that should be taken after Blood Donation * Drink more Liquids than usual in next 4 hours + Don't smoke for next 30 minutes + Avoid strenuous work for the next 24 hours,
