Merry Christmas!

Planning to get out this winter but fear that the cold might keep
everyone in? Well, fear not! There are many things to do even with the
harsh, wintery cold. Parades, ice skating, and even firework shows are
opening this winter. So, if you're ready to have some winter fun...Read
this article to discover some of the exciting things to do around the area!

The St. Patricks Day Parade


As history will tell, the St.
Patricks Day Parade1 is a wellknown tradition. Parading down
streets, leaving trails of costumes,
music and smiling faces.
This year, the parade will be
performed on March 12th and will
go down 16th and JFK Boulevard
from noon to 3pm. The parade will end at the Philadelphia Museum of
Art. If you dont want to be outside to watch the parade, you can watch
the parade live on Fox 292.

Ice Skating at Rothman or Dilworth Ice


Rink
Outdoor ice skating in
Pennsylvania is a sport that can
only be done in winter. That
explains why its special each
time you go. This winter at the
Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth
Park3, anybody and everybody
can come and have fun on the
ice. If you're new to skating,
there are $99, five-class
skating lessons on Sunday mornings. The rink is open from November
11th to February 26th, 2017. The rink is on 1 South 15th Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19102, better known as the west side of City Hall.

Rink hours are below:

Monday- Thursday: Noon 9 pm


Fridays: Noon - 11pm
Saturday: 11 am 11 pm
Sunday: 11 am- 8 pm

Robotics Exhibit at The Franklin Institute


Too cold outside to do anything? Well, not to worry, there are
plenty of things to do inside too. The Robot Revolution at The Franklin
Institute has all that you could ask for! You can interact with robots,
watch a robot soccer match, or even play a game of tic-tac-toe with a
robot! The Franklin Institute4 is located on 222 N. 20th Street
Philadelphia, PA 19103. This awesome exhibit will be open until April
2nd, 2017.

Daytime hours (general museum admission included) - 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
Last admission Sunday - Wednesday at 3:30 pm
Evening Hours (general museum admission is not included)

Center City Restaurant Week


Special foods are a major part of winter. Hot cocoa, lasagna, and
more are some peoples favorite part of winter. To those people, this
event will be very exciting. Center City is having a restaurant week,
where you can go into any participating restaurant and get a three course
dinner or lunch for $35
The first week starts on January 22nd
and ends on the 27th. The second week will
start on January 29th and end on February
3rd. All the participating restaurants can be
located throughout the city.

Winter can be cold and snowy, but that doesn't mean that you cant
