VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Marys Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center in DC, is seeking volunteers to assist with a
canvassing effort for DC Health Link and Open Enrollment.
Volunteers will inform and educate residents about the Affordable Care Act and health insurance through
DC Health Link, and remind residents of the upcoming enrollment deadline.
Goals & Objectives
The primary goals of the canvassing campaign are:
1. Reinforce the enrollment deadline messages and urge uninsured residents to enroll in quality
affordable health insurance for 2017
2. Encourage residents to support the Each One, Link One initiative to identify uninsured persons
they know, link them to DC Health Link and help get them get enrolled in health insurance
3. Answer questions residents may have about the ACA, DC Health Link and the benefits of health
insurance
Canvassing is the highest quality interaction and contact campaign you can engage in with consumers. It can be
most effective in getting consumers to understand the ACA and in reaching the hardto-reach uninsured.
