ABSTRACT

Today, the mining activities in Kulon Progo is more expand. One of the
activities is rock sand mining activities in Kulon Progo. The potential of rock sand are
quite lare in kulon Progo. Rock sand minerals which is economic value and
reasonable/worth it that attract the investors to invest their stoct. Therefore the mining
sector are expected become the main supporting regional economy, the especially
increase in local revenue.
The potential rocksand resource in Kulon Progo that researched by the
writer/author with the latest reference distribution of rock sand that conducted by
UGM the distribution of rocksand only in Nanggulan, Kalibawang, Galur, Sentolo
Sub-Distrct with a number of 719.677.058,9 tons. The potential rock sand and
resources cant be separated from the utilitation of rock sand it self, some of the
utilitation of rock sand has a specific quality requirements, the utilitation must to
adjust from the quality of rock sand that exist. The activities rock sand mining have
been conducted by local people around 4 years (2011-2014) its recorded 314.760
tons.
The preparation of balance sheet resources of rock sand in Kulon Progo that
follows the Technical Guidelines for National Spatial Balance Natural Resources
Book 4 Preparation of Minerals and Coal Spatial 2011. The steps of organize an
inventory of the potential rock sand resources in Kulon Progo, these inventories
become the beginning of a data resources that is the assets after that multiplied with
sale price of rock sand today. The utilitation or rock sand productions will to fill in
the pasiva column after that multiplied with sale price of rock sand today. The value
of assets have been exist after that will be reduced with the value of liabilities/pasiva
to gets the value of the final balance sheet rock sand resources. The results of balance
sheet research also the potential rock sand resources in Kulon Progo that obtained of
value asset amounted to Rp. 565.339.190.000,- and liabilities amounted to
Rp. 2.472.584.446,- that obtained the final balance rock sand resources amounted to
Rp. Rp. 562.866.605.600,-.,- in 2014. From these results it can be seen an increase in
the potential for rock sand mining sector. The increase in local revenues in Kulon
Progo if managed properly.
