room and becomes that object
Students must brainstorm If-then statements that might occur if they were
taken away from their room
Join back together and one group as a time the teacher exclaims Look at all
this junk, (selects and object/student to take) and says Ill take this away!
Student then replies with No you cant take me! Teacher responds Why
and student then says if you take me then_________ or just
because___________
After all the students go then the audience or rest of the class must guess
which room and what those objects might be in that room.
Curricular Connection:
Creativity- When creating sentences and trying to figure out why they cannot be
taken away from that room children will use their sense of creativity.
Sentence Types- If-Then sentences and even about what makes a sentence
complete can be integrated into this activity.
Variations:
You can make variations with generalized categories using any subject area, and

alter it to meet that curriculum. You could do things such as body parts, rainforest,
books, immigrations, etc.
