STEMISTRY PROJECT

Introduction:
This chemical dominoes project is merely a chance for students and interested
scholars to experience firsthand chemistry. It is not a time to mess around; this is a very
exciting process, and observers may feel the urge to interact with our project. However,
this is strictly discouraged due to the many harmful, corrosive chemicals that the
presenters are dealing with. We hope you, as part of a constructive and interested
audience, will ask many questions, and inquire us during our demonstrations. As
burgeoning scientists, we practice gracius professionalism by following protocols and
procedures. We ask you to respect these heuristics.

Safety:
Acids and Bases exceeding 1 Molar concentrations must be handled with
protective gloves and goggles
Metal parts introduced to corrosive chemicals during the demonstration
must be washed with distilled water
Be aware of wet wood, because it could be cross-contaminated with
chemicals
Do not, under any circumstances, help students decontaminate or reset
their experiments without explicit permission from an authoritative figure
Know the chemicals before you use them. Follow the official CDC
guidelines if contamination does somehow occur
Use common sense and common courtesy in the vicinity of all chemistry
projects
For further detailed questions about safety around chemicals, refer to
manual International Safety for the Use of Chemicals

Instructions: (2 player Race)

Identify Game Board & Pieces

STEMISTRY PROJECT
Playing pieces: 3D figurines folded from origami
Game Board: Decorated, thin, rectangular sheet of
styrofoam
Game Objective: Get to the Finish space on the Game Board first
Choose desired game piece and begin on the Start tile
Based on results of the demonstration, or give up turn or
proceed
Specific Rules:
If Double Displacement reaction works, move 2 spaces
forward
If Single Displacement works, move 2 places forward
If Decomposition Rxn works,
move 1 space forward
If Incandescent light is lit, move 1 space forward
These moves can be added throughout the demonstration
Turn change after every failed, or successful demonstration
Players need exact amount of moves to the end to win
If space value exceeds wanted amount to Finish space,
dont move.
