Alexander Graham Bell is credited with the invention known to the phone.

Bell has applied for the patent on the phone to work February 14, 1876.
Of patents for the telephone rang and was successfully defended in the five hundred
and eighty-seven cases, including the five reached the Supreme Court of the United States.
The fact is that Alexander Graham Bell did not invent the first working telephone, but many of
inventors developed similar systems at different times and with varying degrees of success.
