There are two types of reproduction: Asexual and Sexual. Asexual reproduction
results in the formation of two whole organisms without the use of gametes. These
individual are also clones (identical to parents).Binary fission is a types of
asexual reproduction in which a unicellular organism clones itself. The formation of
runners in plants like strawberries allows clones to develop from offshoots of the
parents plants stems . Some plants like aspen trees are clones formed by root
parts called rhizomes. In Fragmentation, a whole individual is formed from the
severed body part of the parent. Budding allows some animals to form new
individuals by growing them as offshoots of their bodies. Parthenogenesis involves

the production of eggs without sperm from a male. The primary difference between
asexual reproduction and mitosis is that mitosis does not involve the formation of a
whole organism.
