Coeur dAlene

Week 19

SALUTATIONS FROM

ROOM 7

A little bit different format..

Reminders
This week there will be
writing homework in
place of our daily math
problem/reflection.
The children should
also read 20-30
minutes daily, and
respond in their
journals.
CDA NEWS
1/31/17-Annual Spelling
bee.

Book Buddies
Last week we made
snowflakes and we wrote
poems on snowflakes
using the senses. We
enjoyed thinking about
how quiet a snowflake
can be.

We will have our classroom Spellcheck on Thursday of this week.

This Spellcheck is a very important part of our school wide
fundraising, and these monies often go towards field trips!! Please
remind your child to collect pledges, or lump sums this week, and
bring in the forms by Friday. Lump sum money pledged can also
be collected and brought in at the same time. The form will be
returned on Monday with the words the students spelled correctly,
so that word pledge forms may be used to collect the remainder of
pledges. Thank you so much for participating in this fun and
exciting event. The winning class collecting the most money gets
an afternoon of PE with Mr. Jenkins and the PE coaches!!! The
classroom spelling bee will be on Friday.
Also please remember to help your child bring in 12 4x7 photos
and a list of important dates, i.e. birthdays by Monday. In art the
children are doing a project and really need your assistance with
this part. Thank you so much!!

Readers and Writers Workshop Celebration

This week, students will be completing their
informational books, and as they are now experts, will
be teaching the class about their topic on Friday.
We will have a celebration of family on that day also,
as students have elected to have it be Come Dressed
as your Parents Day!! Every Friday will feature a
different theme.

We will continue to practice estimation skills, using

place value knowledge, counting up and back by 10
