The Earth and its movements

The Earth is the third planet from the Sun and it is the only planet known to have life.

The Earth rotates around a central axis of rotation that is tilted 23 as it orbits the Sun. It rotates
counterclockwise from east to west and it takes 24 hours to complete one rotation.

The imaginary line around the centre of the Earth's surface is called the Equator. It divides the Earth
into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
