DEFINITION:
Mayflies often dubbed as one day insects because of their short life-span that only
lasts for only 24 hours. Throughout the span of 24 hours, they have to fly, mate and give
birth before they draw their last breath the following day. They have more than 2,000
species, most of them die within a few hours upon hatching underwater. When the mayflies
die, their carcasses will be feasted by birds and frogs.
