Legal Environment of Business

Demonstrate an understanding of contractual relationships.
6.1 Investigate the elements of an enforceable contract and example uses in a business
(e.g., offer and acceptance, consideration, mutual assent, capacity to contract,
legality, and form).
Class hours required for completion: 3 hours
Day 1: Log into/register on the Pixton website and view tutorial. Student will receive their assigned element today.
Brainstorm on ways you can incorporate the element into a story.
Day 2: Begin using Pixton to key your story.
Day 3: Complete your story. Compare your finished product with points on the rubric to ensure that you have
appropriately covered all requirements. Proofread and print one copy in color.

Directions: Using Pixton.com, students will work individually to create a six (6) panel
comic strip to explain one of the concepts outlined in Section 6.1 Creation of
Contract Offers. You will be assigned one (1) of the six major requirements that must
be satisfied before courts will treat a transaction as a legally enforceable contract.
These six requirements are:

Offer and acceptance


Genuine Assent
Legality
Consideration
Capacity
Writing

Once you have received your requirement, go to Pixton.com (a free online comic strip
creator) and register as a Student. Create your 6 panels and create a story around the
assigned requirement. A rubric
is provided.
