ALWAYS

USE

PERSONAL
PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT

HEAD

Wear a SAFETY HELMET, on deck, in cargo,


ballast and void spaces, and whenever working
near cranes and hoists in use.

FEET

Wear SAFETY SHOES whilst working where


ever you are on board.
NEVER wear flip flops or soft trainer type
shoes on deck or in the engine room.

EYES

Wear SAFETY GOGGLES when chipping,


grinding or doing any other work where there is
a chance of getting a foreign body in your eyes.

HANDS

Wear GLOVES during mooring operations,


handling chemicals and greases, welding or
cutting, or in any other case where hand
protection is needed. Wear the right glove for
the job
Wear EAR DEFENDERS / PROTECTION in
all high noise areas, machinery spaces, pumprooms or when chipping.

EARS

BODY

Wear BOILER SUITS / COVERALLS when


working in machinery spaces, pump-rooms or
on deck

HEIGHTS Wear a SAFETY HARNESS whenever working


aloft, over side or more than 2 metres above the
deck, or in any other area where there is a
chance of falling. You may DIE or worse be
permanently crippled
