Process Paper

By Anthony Jorge and Vincent Toranzo

As I sat in front of my TV one boring Sunday afternoon, I changed channel to channel to
channel. Then, I ran into this movie called Valkyrie. Actor Tom Cruise stars in it. After I watched
it, I gain immediate interest of the July 20th Plot. This was an event in which the few, brave top
soldiers decided to try and assassinate Hitler for the sake of Germany. But most importantly,
they took a stand in history.
Research on the July 20th Plot was very easy to find without trouble, but there are no
primary sources about the topic. Most are secondary sources. I researched in the library to find
books on the topic. One of my books were called Valkyrie, like the movie. It deeply explained
the event and how the bombing was planned and how it occurred. Furthermore, I also looked
online for websites to research information on the individuals that participated in this Plot. Some
of the websites used were JewishVirtualLibrary.org and History.com. As I studied further into
this topic, I found information that I never learned, like how Hitler survived the blast. They
explained that since the bomb was a little further than where he was standing, the blast did not
kill him.
Since I am skilled on the computer, I decided to make a website with my partner. The
website seemed the most orderly form of presentation. On the website, there will be all the
research my partner and I have done for this topic. We will include different sections on the
website, to show a sense of chronological order in our events.
The men and women that participated in this plot to assassinate Hitler are honored in
Germany. They all wanted to bring an end to Nazi Germany and create a new and improved
Germany. The participants risked their lives and their familys lives by operating within this plot.
They knew Hitler was a brutal dictator that only cared for his needs. They wanted to take a
stand, and show that Hitler doesnt deserve to be the leader of this country. It is incredible to
know that the participants of the July 20th Plot came so close to taking over Germany. But
unfortunately, Hitler was alive and he demanded these heroes to be executed. They will always
be heroes to Germany, and people around the world.
