Geniusday
By: Hannah Frederick and Katharine
Peck
On early release this week, the
students have had the privilege of
genius day. Genius day is when the
students get to choose what classes
they would like to take. The classes
can be vastly differentfromonesthe
teachersusuallyteachbutneedtobe
somethingthestudentswillenjoy.
It's very cool to be able to see what
the teachers interests are besides
besides school. Throughout the day
the students learned about the
teacher's talents. Mr. Jones taught
Dream vacation, Mr. Turner
educated students about music and
music appreciation, Ms. Edwards
informed them about barre
exercises, and Ms. Wildhaber taught
a class called movie plots. After
interviewing a few students about
how they liked genius day, we found
that most students thought genius
day was a good idea but they wish
they knew more about the class
before the signed up. Then when
interviewing teachers with a similar
set of questions, the vast majority
thought that it was a good idea and
they loved theirclassessomuchthat
they would not change them or

Multistepproblems

At the beginning of this week
students put together a domino like
puzzle, connecting word problems
with the equations that it. If they
completed it correctly it would look
slightly like the outline of a ire
hydrant! After completion students
moved on to a new lesson about
multiple step equations combining
everything they have learned so far.
