gift given to humans by the Almighty.
Eyes are very valuable part of a human being, which should not be wasted after a persons death. Instead, they should be donated to someone in need of them. Eye donation shows also our responsibility to society as a committed citizen. It gives sight to two corneally blind persons, enabling them to come out of the dark and see the colorful and beautiful world. In India, around 4.6 million people with corneal blindness are cured through corneal transplantation, made possible only by eye donation. There is another advantage of eye donation. More than 35,000 eyes are used annually for research and education. Research into glaucoma, retinal disease and other sight disorders benefit from donations can be done only on human eyes.These studies advance the discovery of the causes and effects of specific eye conditions and lead to new treatments and cures. Eyes are the 'windows to the soul'. They play a vital role in our day to day lives. Good eyesight is very important for our daily activities. Clear and bright eye sight makes this world a better place to live in. But the same eyes bring misery to someone when they are lost. A wise man utilizes this gift by god while alive and also after death. Eye-donation should be encouraged on a large scale, regardless of socio-economic, religious, linguistic and geographical backgrounds, so as to enable another person obtain vision is one of the best forms of charity.
