Changes with WIOA

Youth under 25 need to be paid minimum wage.


No sub-minimum wage for transition students.
Pay check will be coming through opportunity partners.
After transition they need to go through twice yearly career counseling to ensure they have
choices in employment.
Working with Voc. Rehab.
Work experience and evaluation
Looking to see if they can be independently employed.
Month long evaluation at each site:2,000 per month

Job placement
St.Paul-VRS pays for a portion and the district pays for the
remaining. 40/60 split
3 students to 1 evaluator versus the 1 to 1 (cheaper the
typical.evaluation)
Job placement in a business
Job developer
Meet with the person/team
Leads into supported employment
Has job coaching
Meet once or twice a week.

Minimum Wage
Epco-Would be the work site.
Custodial Work
New Source Site-Assembly-Integrated work site.
Co-workers: supported employment teams. Ratio 1 to 8.
Controlled environment
Start time

Look at options before hand.


Determine what sites are open
Can start within a week
Can tour if given some notice.
