Re: Alexa Flaman-Haley

To whom it may concern,
I have been asked to provide a letter of reference for Alexa Flaman-Haley and it is my
pleasure to do so. I had the opportunity to work closely with Alexa as her mentor
teacher during October to December 2015 at Central Middle School. During that time,
Alexa taught English Language Arts to grade 6 and 7 as well as grade 7 Social Studies.
Throughout her practicum Alexa impressed me often with her organization, dedication
to students and her work ethic.
Alexa demonstrated many positive professional attributes throughout her practicum.
She created an engaging and caring classroom environment. Students enjoyed being in
her class. Alexa was paired with another practicum student, she impressed me with her
teamwork and leadership while working closely with her teaching partner. Teaching
with a partner can be challenging but she was able to plan lessons that showcased both
partners skills and differentiate her lessons effectively in order to meet the needs of all
learners.
Alexa was able to make many positive contributions to school life in her short time at
Central. She helped organize, decorate and supervise the first school dance of the year.
She was also involved in the school intramural program and was willing to help out
wherever she was needed. She was available to help supervise and assist students at
lunch with their classwork.
I have no doubt that with Alexas enthusiasm, knowledge and ability she will make an
excellent staff member at any school. I would welcome the opportunity to work with
her again in the future and would urge anyone to strongly consider her for any teaching
position she is applying for. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further
information or questions.
