3. Candidates are advised to check for updates with respect to availability of seat in
each of the programmes on the website http://simsr.somaiya.edu. In case there are
no vacant seats left in any of the programmes, the institute will STOP the counseling
session/s.
4. The number of seats available in each of the programmes are (PGDM - 120 (3
for NRI inclusive); PGDM-IB: 60, PGDM-RM: 60, PGDM-FS: 60 and PGDM-COM:
60)
5. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility requirements mentioned in the
admission process before they report for counseling. Only the candidates whose
ranks are included in the counseling schedule are required to attend the same.
6. Ensure that you carry the originals of all the documents during the counseling
process. The candidates are advised to keep photo copy of all the documents as
well.
7. The fees for the first year is Rs.4,40,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs forty thousand Only)
which includes refundable caution deposit of Rs.10,000. The fees for the second
year will be announced at the end of first year.

8. The candidates called for counseling are advised to deposit the amount of
Rs.4,40,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs forty thousand Only) though NEFT option
of AXIS BANK A/C of K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and
Research by downloading the NEFT Details. The amount has to be credited on
or before 20th April 2016 to become eligible for participating at counseling
session.
9. In case if a candidate is not selected or does not get the programme of his/her
choice the amount would be refunded back to account specified by the
candidate in the NEFT Details (within 3-4 working days after the last
counseling session).
10. The bank would levy the applicable charges while remitting as well as refund
of amount. The process will be initiated by the Institute and the bank will
refund the amount only after the instruction is forwarded to the bank by the
Institute.
11. Alternatively, a candidate called for counseling session can carry a Demand draft of
Rs.4,40,000/- (Rupees Four lakhs forty thousand Only) drawn in favour of K J
Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, payable at Mumbai.
12. Fees (Demand Draft) will be accepted at the designated counter only.
Applicants are advised to obtain the acknowledgement of the fees received.
Fees in Cash will not be accepted.
13. Students offering for hostel will have to remit the hostel fees of Rs.1,50,000/(Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) by 30th May 2016 through demand draft
drawn in favour of K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research
Hostel, payable at Mumbai. The details will be specified in the letter of
Admission.
14. The presence of the candidate at the counseling is mandatory. If a candidate is
prevented by unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the
counseling, he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her at the
counseling. This representative must carry the authorization letter and bring all the
documents and the demand draft (if not remitted through NEFT option of Axis
Bank) as mentioned above.
15. Absence of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time
and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat.
16. Only the candidate/representative will be allowed into the counseling hall. They will
be called in the order of their ranks and offered the seats available at that point of
time. They are permitted to choose any of the programmes during their turn based
on the SIMSR rank, subject to the availability of seat.
17. The choice of programme made by the candidate / representative during the
counseling process is final and binding and cannot be altered later under any
circumstances.
18. All candidates must note that any form of canvassing or influence exercised would
result in permanent disqualification of the application without any prior notice to the
applicant.
19. http://simsr.somaiya.edu is the only official website of the institute. The institute is
not responsible for information available on other websites / elsewhere.

20. The institute cannot be held responsible for any postal delay, denial of Internet
service, website unavailability, and unavailability to connect/reach voice /non voice
support or any other reasons, beyond the control of the institute.
21. The Institute reserves the right to modify the various terms and conditions and other
criteria incorporated in its selection at its discretion and at any time after notifying the
same on its website http://simsr.somaiya.edu.
22. Please note: K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research does not
have any agents, liaison/admission offices, representatives or any other office/s
other than the Institutes office at Mumbai. Candidates are requested not to depend
upon or deal with any person or organisation/s claiming to be associated with the
institute activities or claiming to help with admissions. The institute will not be

23. All communication to KJ SIMSR shall have to be in English Language only
24. The institute website http://simsr.somaiya.edu is updated regularly. We suggest all
candidates to visit it frequently for relevant information.
25. The cancellation of admission and subsequent refund of fees will be as per the rule
specified by the AICTE and other competent authorities.
26. All legal disputes shall be under the preview of competent courts / consumer forums
located in the jurisdiction of Mumbai city only.
27. Wait-listing of Applicants
a. Once all the seats are filled, other applicants who participated in the
counseling process will be automatically placed in waiting list.
b. In case an applicant has paid through NEFT option the amount will credited
to the account (as specified in the Challan) within next 3-4 working days.
c. The applicants who have NOT paid through NEFT option and are carrying
demand draft to the counselling process are advised NOT TO SUBMIT THE
DEMAND DRAFT. In case of selection to the desired programme they will be
intimated accordingly. They can then send their Demand Draft along with
specified documents through courier or speed post. All demand drafts are
valid for 3 months
d. The movement of applicants from position of wait list to select list will be on
the basis of simsr rank/merit position. No preference will be given to any
applicant on the basis of payment mode (Demand draft/ NEFT option)
e. It is desirable that the candidates take the admission to the programmes
offered during the counselling process. As and when vacancy arises the
applicant will be moved to desired programme on the basis of his/her simsr
rank/merit.
f. If the candidates choose not to take admission to the programme being
offered, he/she will be automatically placed in the wait list of the programmes
opted at the time of counseling session. Such candidates will be intimated
about the selection as and when vacancy arises. Needless to say the fees will
not be accepted from such candidates and if the payment is made through
NEFT option, it will be refunded within next 3-4 working days.
