OneYearFulltimePostGraduateProgrammeinManagementforExecutives(PGPX)

PGPXisaoneyear,fulltimeresidentialprogrammeforexecutiveswithsubstantialworkexperienceleadingtoaOneYearPostGraduate
DiplomainManagementforExecutives.ThedesignofPGPXisbuiltonIIMA'swellestablishedexperienceofdesigningandrunningpost
graduatemanagementprogrammesforexceptionallybrightstudentsandawiderangeofexecutiveeducationprogrammesforpracticing
managersfrommanycountries.PGPXstudentsareselectedthrougharigorousadmissionsprocessthatincludesGMAT(www.mba.com),
leadership profiling and personal interviews. The programme takes into account the substantial and varied experience the selected
executivesbringtotheclassroom.Theobjectiveoftheprogrammeistodevelopbright,enthusiasticandhighinitiativeexecutivesinto
managementleadersandchangeagentsintheglobalarena.Theprogrammehasageneralmanagementfocus,includinganemphasis
on managing across borders and cultures. It has an international project (called International Immersion) besides teaching content
drawnfrommanycountries.
ProgrammeStructure:Thisprogrammefollowsasixsegmentcoursestructure,eachsegmentseamlesslyjoinedtothenext.The
segmentsare
(i)Induction
(ii)BuildingBlocks
(iii)PreparingforTopManagement
(iv)InternationalImmersion
(v)Electives
(vi)Capstone
Induction:Spreadovertwoandahalfdays,itgivesthestudentsachancetogetfamiliarwiththeinfrastructure,cocurricularand
extracurricularactivities,whiletuningintotheprogrammecontentandtheIIMAmethodoflearning.Italsohelpsthestudentto
understandtheselfwhilemakingthetransitiontothePGPXandthefuture.

BuildingBlocks:Thecoresegmentgivesthestudentsarigorousgroundinginthefundamentalsofmanagement.Itcrystallizesand
enhancestheirbasicconceptualandanalyticalknowledge,predisposingthemformanagerialeffectiveness.

PreparingforTopManagement:Thissegment,whichisthedifferentiatingelementofthePGPX,furtherdevelopsthestudents'
skills,enablingthemtobetterunderstandandenvisionthedynamicswithincomplexmanagementproblems.Italsopreparesthemfor
visionaryleadership,beingchangeagentsandplayingaroleatthetop.

InternationalImmersion:Studentsareimmersedintwointensiveweeksofacademicsinaninternationallocation.Thissegment
equipsstudentswithunderstandingofmacroleveldynamicsandunfamiliareconomicenvironmentinaforeigncountry.

Electives:Thestudentsareofferedawiderangeofelectivecoursesincludingonmarketing,finance,supplychainmanagement,
strategicmanagementandvarioussectoralareas.Whileelectivesdependonstudentinterestandfacultysupply,thisallowsstudents
thefreedomofelectivesinareasofpassionandproficiency,makingeverystudent'sexperienceuniqueandcustomizedtohisorher
chosengrowthpath.Itisalsoanopportunitytoexplorenewareasoflearningandachancetoreflectonandleveragepastexperience
Aspartofthe'electives'segment,studentscanoptforanIndividualResearchProject(IRP).TheprojectisexecutedbyPGPX
participantswithafacultyadvisor.Theresultisahighqualitywrittenoutput,whichcouldbeanyof

entireprogramme,reflectonone'sownexperienceasanexecutiveandunderstandwhatitmeanstoworkinlarge,multidisciplinary
teamsfacingtoughdeadlines.
