Wilhelm was born to Erika Mustermann (previous to that named nothing) and Gustav Visser.

Previously, Erika had gone by no name, having belonged to a group of seclusionist monks. She had
been sent on a mission to hunt down the man who had killed the monastary's grand-master. Her trail
running near dry, she took haven in the last small village he was spotted in to gather information. In
accordance with her edicts, when Erika had heard that Gustav's town had been beset by a group of
bandits that had usurped control of the docks, their livelihood, she took it upoon herself to put
things right. Unfortunately, as a young warrior she was not strong enough to take on a gang by
herself, but when he heard that a young woman had gone to fight the vicious gang by herself,
Gustov took it upon himself to make sure that she would not be alone. By rallying townsfolk,
Gustov led the charge to bring aid to the young monk when she was beginning to have trouble and
as a community, they drove the brigands from the docks.
The concept of a community acting in the interest of a stranger was counter to what the young monk
had been taught. The monastary's teachings had emphasized charity and action because it was seen
as the true nature of mankind to act solely in self interest, with only the truly wise that would step
aside from this urge to step forward for others. Now, the community had certainly benefitted from
this act, but with such a contradiction to her teachings as a possibility, the young monk had to know
the truth. She took on the name Erika Mustermann (the equivalent of Jane Doe) and used the fame
she had mustered in taking on the brigands to acquire a job aboard a crab fishing vessel in order to
experience this community's spirit.
