Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Receives and makes endorsement from the outgoing and incoming
shift and makes general rounds of the patients with the outgoing staff,
giving special attention to the seriously or critically ill patient.
2 Joins doctors rounds , carries out doctors legal orders and assists the
doctor during physical examination and treatment
3 Checks and facilitates consent for admission and management and
other clinical procedures.
4 Acts as a liaison between patient and hospital personnel e.g., Social
Service, PHILHEALTH, and interdepartmental services.
5 Explains nursing procedures and treatments ordered to gain patients
cooperation and allay apprehension while maintaining safe / conducive
therapeutic environment for the patient.
6 Discharges the patients record, encodes charges and update room
management and patients list every shift in the Hospital Management
Information System (HMIS) in a timely manner.
7 Makes rounds frequently to check patients condition and provides
accurate report of patients condition and reaction to medication and
treatment and refer to the doctor accordingly
8 Updates stock cards and 24 hour rolling stocks and conducts monthly
census and inventory of medication and equipment and submits it thru
the appropriate channel.
9 Adheres to the infection control policies and guidelines of the
institution and Submits reports of cases of communicable diseases
admitted in the unit to the Infection Control Nurse.
10 Performs other duties as may be assigned.
