1. Genetically modified foods (or GM foods) are foods produced from

organisms that have had specific changes introduced into their DNA using
the methods of genetic engineering.

2. The advantages of GMO crops are: Pest Resistance, Herbicide tolerance,
disease resistance, cold tolerance, drought tolerance.

There is also discussion about organ failure caused from the GMO crops.
Animals who were fed these GMO crops suffered organ issues and some even
died. Scientists warned people that the food might create unpredicted
allergies, toxins, antibiotic resistant diseases, and nutritional problems.

3. Reduced pesticide spraying. Biotech cotton has given a positive impact on
the number and diversity of beneficial insects. Many of the GMCs
(Genetically modified crop) secret toxins into the soil which kill pests and
some plants that tries to grow in that soil. The toxins may leak into oceans
and hurt aquatic life. Super Weeds have been known to exist from cross
pollution from the GMO crops and the weeds.

4. GMO foods have been engineered to increase certain amounts of nutrients
in crops. Longer shelf life. Able to make food with medicinal benefits. Animals
that were fed GMO foods died.

5. Poor countries cant afford the technology to get GMO food and will have
to import more food due to supply demand. Countries able to afford the
technology will rise up economy wise because they will be able to support
the worlds demand for food.
