Instructor, Marion Bryant, will provide two sample options for
your canvas, and then you make it your own!
You do not have to be an artist, bring a friend and just have fun!

your bills while still staying comfortable in your home? Learn a
few of these changes in a short discussion style workshop.
Emphasis will be on topics of most interest to the audience. Use
of a kilowatt meter will be discussed and one to loan out.

CURR 144 12 Senior Fitness, Mon-Wed-Th, 10am-11am, 1/17-5/12, NCCC Wellness
Wayne Petterson, instructor, welcomes persons at all levels of fitness. Each will work at his/her own pace.
CURR 144-13 Screen Scenes, Mon, 1:30-4:10pm, 2/20-5/1, NCCC Student Center Oak Room
Instructor Ethan Smilie leads the class through watching, and gaining an understanding of film adaptations of the
novels of Victor Hugo and Charles Dickens. Movie lovers will find this a GREAT way to spend an afternoon.
CURR 144-15 Senior Aerobics, Mon/Wed/Fri, 9-10am, 1/23-5/12, NCCC GYM. Instructor Nicci Wiltse
allows participants to work at their own pace as they learn exercise techniques. Consider signing up for this class
if you enjoy the camaraderie of a group of persons working on a common goal.
CURR 144-16 Spin and Knit, Thursdays, 6-8:30pm, 4/6-5/11, NCCC Student Center 213
Instructor Edie Godinez invites persons of all levels, including those who have never knitted but want to learn, to
join her class. Each person will bring their own needles/yarn.
CURR 144-18 Techniques in Writing Memoirs, Articles, Stories, & More,
Wednesdays, 1-2:30pm, 3/8-5/10, Chanute Public Library
Jane Landreth has experience in writing and publishing her works! This course is designed to show techniques in
which to write many types of writing. It will consist of lecture, reviewing material, class discussion and actual
writing which type each student finds an interest in.
CURR 144-19 Transforming Your Habits, Saturdays 4/1&4/8, NCCC Rowland Hall Rm 303, 9am-5pm
Often we pay very little attention to our habits. Every day we make decisions and those decisions influence and
are influenced by the habits we have. If you are frustrated with bad habits, an unproductive routine or just
unhappy explore your habits and how to change them.
CURR 144-20 Simple Yoga, Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm, 1/19-4/27, NCCC Student Center Oak Room
A unique learning experience for anyone who would like to move with more ease and/or get a basic introduction
to Yoga. No prior experience or knowledge of Yoga is needed. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to
become more balanced, flexible and relaxed. Modifications of movements will be made to accommodate
students.
CURR 144-71 Writing your Memoirs: Way Back Yonder, Tuesdays, 1-2:30pm, 3/7-5/9, Erie Library
Designed to contrast the past memoirs with present-day situations/items, along with using the basic instructions
used in writing memoirs. This course will consist of lecture, reviewing nostalgic material, class discussion and
actual writing of memoirs. The focus of the course will be Way Back Yonder.

which includes tickets to all FIVE shows PLUS a one-time guest ticket (seats together not
guaranteed) and CROSSROADS transportation. You meet mid-morning, bring sack lunch
for the ride, watch a matinee, and dine out on the way home!

June 17th Thoroughly Modern Millie
The Twenties roar tunefully back to life with the tale of Kansan Millie Dillmount, who
takes New York City by storm! A toe-tapping song-and-dance spectacular.
July 1st Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
This lively stage version of a classic Hollywood musical is a rollicking good time, complete
with athletic dances, wonderful singing, and plenty of romance as seven robust
frontiersman win their sweethearts!
July 15th Hairspray
An outrageously happy musical that welcomes us back to the 1960s, this show follows the
irrepressible Tracy Turnblad from an outsider to a teen celebrity. A smash hit on
Broadway, Hairspray won 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
July 29th The Hunchback of Notre Dame
This new musical, based on a timeless tale by Victor Hugo the author of Les Misrables
has an epic sweep guaranteed to uplift and inspire. Songs by Alan Menken and Stephen
Schwartz, including many from the Disney film, take audience members on a beautiful
journey amongst the bells of Notre Dame.
August 12th Disneys Newsies
Music Theatre Wichita becomes one of the first regional theatres in the nation to create
its own brand-new version of the megahit show Newsies, featuring spectacular dances,
catchy songs, and the compelling true story of resilient newsboys at the turn of the
20th century.
