Warrenton Middle School was constructed in 1936 with a 1981 addition. The 1981 renovation of both Schools included mechanical, low voltage systems, and replacement of windows. The structures and equipment are out of date, deteriorating, and inefficient. A raffe study wl need to be performed to determine if necessary Fauquier County Public Schools Bond-Funded Capital Improvement Plan FY 2018-2023 NEW CONDOLIDATED TAYLOR/WARRENTON MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNUAL OPERATING COSTS: Consolidation of Taylor and Warrenton Middle Schools should result in a reduction in staffing through attrition and reassignment. If Warrenton is repurposed, even if temporarily, some staffing will be required. With more efficient heating, cooling and lighting, utilities should not increase significantly even with the added square footage. Savings in utlities at a less than fully occupied WMS should offset any increase in the short-term. Fauquier County Public Schools Bond-Funded Capital Improvement Plan FY 201 8-2023 AUBURN MIDDLE SCHOOL EXPANSION (1 lassroom Addition) PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Auburn Middle School opened in August 2004. Continued development of single family homes in the surrounding neighborhoods is forecast to require additional capacity for the School. This project adds twelve classrooms (two per floor in each of the three grade- level wings) and increases capacity by 300 students to 960.
