Interview Questions and Answers

Mason Watkins
1. Tell me about yourself. M y name is Mason. I am currently in high school, and on track
to graduate in 2020. At the moment I am working extremely hard to keep up my class
rank, as I am 9th out of the 402 people in the class of 2020. After school, I am either at
football practice during the sports season, or at the gym working out. I have 3 sisters
and no brothers, so my dad and I get run over by all the girls in the family.
2. What are your strengths/key skills? My strength in life is my knowledge. I am highly
educated and I possess common sense, which is increasing in value tremendously these
days. I work well with others when given a task or problem. I frown upon being rude to
people, so I am very friendly to others. Also, I am very responsible and disciplined,
meaning that if I was to obtain a job or order, Id carry it out to the best of my abilities.
3. What are your weaknesses? Although I am very smart, I dont speak up most of the
time due to my extreme levels of stage fright and overall shyness. It has been getting
better as I talk to more and more different types of people, but it still isnt fully taken care
of. For instance, in class when i know the answer to a problem, and the teacher asks for
an answer from anyone, I will be afraid of getting it wrong and being embarrassed, so I
dont speak up. I feel as if when I get a job, this will get better as I am forced to talk to my
coworkers.
4. Where would you like to be five years from now? I would like to have been accepted
into college and be taking my first year majoring in the medical field, as I want to
someday be an anesthesiologist. I will still obtain my nice car, Nissan 370Z, and drive to
my mothers house every weekend if possible. Ill be hanging out with my college friends
after school once Ive completed all my school work. Hopefully, Ill still have the same
girlfriend once Im in college.
5. Give me an example of a time that you felt you went above and beyond what was
asked of you. This happened to me often a school, whether it be writing a paper pages
more than the requirement, or doing more on a project to make it look more furnished
than the template states. The most important event under this category that has
happened, and still is happening, is my mom telling me to get at least 90s in my class. I
have been working hard and class, and now my GPA is currently a 98.81!
6. Can you describe a time when your work was criticized? In Language Arts, I had the
hardest teacher in terms of grading papers in my life. He would always point out every
mistake I made like using dont instead of refrain from and other words that I could
have given more spice to. Although his class was challenging, I pulled through with a 96,
and incredibly better writing skills than Ive ever had.
7. Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight?
How did you handle it? Yes, on the football field this happens a lot, whether it be
practice or a game, a play or a drive, there is usually one person that misses a block, or
runs the wrong route. To fix this, the coaches either yell at them, or kindly show them
what theyre supposed to do. As a player, what I find to work the best is not to put shame
on them, but it is to try and motivate them, and clear their mind of nervousness.
Motivationally tell them to focus and play the game.
8. What is your greatest failure, and what did you learn from it? In middle school, I was
lazy and lacked the drive and discipline to complete school work. I wasnt motivated to
do homework, and resorted to playing video games instead. Well, last year I almost
failed 8th grade with a 72. I was devastated with myself, and the teachers were very
disappointed in me as well. My favorite teacher Ive ever had, Stacy Jent, taught me that
year that i needed to pick up the slack or I wasnt going to get into the college I wanted
to, and I have a lot of potential to do something in this world, but I was wasting all of it at
the age of 13.
9. What are your career goals? I plan on becoming an anesthesiologist ($$$) as soon as I
have the degree needed from UGA. I plan to work with my parents at the Piedmont
Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. I want to be as close to a hero as possible, and that is
what I see in my parents. They save people daily, and try their hardest to cure whatever
a patient possesses.
10. If I were your supervisor and asked you to do something that you disagreed with,
what would you do? It would depend on the severity of the case. If you were to ask me
to kill a man based on your personal hatred or his beliefs, I would disdain you and
protest against the request. If it was anything work based, then I would do so as you
asked. Like filling out forms, taking someones place while theyre out. Doing more
hours, if I get paid more.
11. How do you handle pressure? Ever since I was a little boy, Ive learned that staying
calm while pressure is present is the best way to go about something. This is why I seem
to score well on tests, as most people freak out, I stay cool and collected to keep my
mind thinking properly, and not nervously.
12. Give me an example of a time you did something wrong. How did you handle it?
My mom used to always tell me to never do backflips off of a diving board, as we own a
pool. The young, irresponsible me didnt listen, and went along doing backflips as long
as I was out there in the pool. One day I jumped too close to the diving board and cut my
entire back as I scraped across the end of it. I lost a lot of blood, and have learned to
respect my moms limits to what I can and cant do, since they are for my safety.
13. If you found out a company you were working for was doing something against
the law, like fraud, what would you do? I would confront the manager about the
wrongdoing to get an explanation of why theyre doing what they do. Afterwards, Id call
the cops and or go to the police station to confront them personally about the situation.
14. What's the most difficult decision you've made in the last two years and how did
you come to that decision? The most difficult decision Ive ever had to make was
putting my dog down 2 weeks ago. He had a herniated disc in his spinal cord that
shattered causing the plates the push on one another, adding up to become paralyzed
waist down. He was suffering and I wouldve done anything to keep him alive, except for
put him through that suffering. Because it wouldnt have been living, it wouldve been
dying slowly.
15. How do you want to improve yourself in the next year? I wish to become more active
in school, such as clubs. I wish to be stronger with all the working out Im doing this year.
I plan on being a very good football player, and be a key item to the team. Also, i want
my class ranking and GPA to increase throughout my years in high school.
16. What does success mean to you? Success to me means reaching a point where
youre happy about how your life is going and how youre doing as person. Your job
making you happy, having a tremendous family, being a good dad, having a nice house
and car, enjoying life as much as you possibly can.
17. What techniques and tools do you use to keep yourself organized? In school, I use
different binders for all of my classes. Included in those binders, are dividers, separating
every assignment Im working on.
18. If you had to choose one, would you consider yourself a big-picture person or a
detail-oriented person? Why? Detail-oriented. I have to have everything perfect,
especially at school. I am not very creative and would rather add onto something than to
come up with my own idea. I get a lot of no common sense jokes.
19. Tell me about a person in your life who really made a difference? My mother made
a huge effect onto my life. My mom has and still does discourage me dipping, smoking,
and doing drugs, and I am incredibly thankful for that as I plan to obtain a college degree
and a nice job. Most people that tend to do drugs and smoke in high school dont
graduate and or have a low paying job.
20. What kind of personality do you work best with and why? I think it would make
sense that I would work best with someone that has a positive attitude. I cant properly
communicate and get the job one with someone that is always down, depressed, or
angry. It would be harder to do our assignments correctly as they would let their
emotions get in the way of concentrating.
21. What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my grades, and where I have ended
up after middle school. In middle school I slacked off and didnt do work, but now I try my
hardest on every assignment given to me.
22. What are three positive things your references would say about you? I am very
book smart. I have a lot of respect towards everyone that shows me respect also. I get
my work done, and done properly.
23. What negative things would any of your teachers say about you? I am a quiet
person compared to most other people. When Im with my friends, I tend to goof off
sometimes.
24. What three character traits would your friends use to describe you? Smart, athletic,
nice
25. What is your greatest fear? My greatest fear is not being able to get good enough
grades in the AP classes I will be taking.
26. What is your biggest regret and why? M y biggest regret is not putting school first
before I got to high school. It wouldve prepared me for high school so much more.

everyone in life comes from has a different background and story. And you have to learn
to respect everyone, no matter what vibe they give off.

believe in killing people with weapons, so he went into battle without one. He was a
medic and saved hundreds of lives throughout a battle, gaining the medal of honor.
32. What would you do if you won the lottery? I would get myself a Lamborghini
