Django Unchained

I hope youve seen this anyway but it has to be on the list, Tarantino classic, would
also recommend the hateful eight while youre here if youve got 3 hours to spare.

Wolf of Wall Street

This is LONG and one of those one-time watchers, but its another amazing
performance by old Leo, about stockbrokers getting rich, mugging people over, and
chucking little people at massive targets.

Lone Ranger
Ok so admittedly this is just another instance of Johnny Depp doing playing a weird-ass
character doing a silly voice, BUT its actually a very good film, and it has an amazing
arrangement of the William Tell theme in the big finale train chase so even if you dont
watch the film you should find that on Spotify just saying.

The Grand Budapest Hotel

Ralph Fiennes once again bossing the whole acting thing as a hotel concierge. Fairly
standard plot concept about retrieving a stolen painting, but interestingly it uses
different aspect ratios to depict the time periods and different storylines, most of it
being in the old school 1930s 4:3 ratio, and it has great music, some funny moments
and a bit of classic old-lady-loving so whats not to like?

Big Hero 6
The most adorable, huggable, inflatable robot youll ever see, set in some weird San
Francisco/New York/Tokyo combo. Good enough to be a pixar, like an animated
combination of real steel and x-men.

The Good Dinosaur

This is pixar so Im hoping youve seen it already, but if not this needs to be up there
at the top of the list. The animation is amazing, the music is amazing, everything is
amazing. 10./10

The Help
If you havent read the book or seen the film then one of these needs to happen, if
only to hear an amazing sassy black woman shout EAT MY SHIT at a stupid white
bitch, as she literally eats her shit.

Rise of the Guardians

I mean, this is kind of a christmas film, but its got a eastern-european santa who uses
composers as swear words. Also the voices of Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine and Jude Law
so its gotta be good right?

Step Brothers
Comedy, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilley. SO funny you have no idea. Just watch it, cannot
recommend it enough.

Napoleon Dynamite
This one is an acquired taste, its insanely awkward to watch but in a good way, like
the office but not as bad. This weird-ass kid becomes friends with Pedro the
stereotypical Mexican and runs for school president. He also has a llama called Tina
(Tina you fat lard come get some dinner).

Into the Woods

The film of the Sondheim musical, you cant have missed it. James Corden, Meryl
Streep, Chris Pine, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Tracey Ullman, Johnny Depp, all the
good people. Fairly certain I sent you the YTP of the stage version as well.

Jekyll
Ok so this is a TV series, but its only 6 episodes and BOY is it amazing. James Nesbitt
is Dr Jekyll (and the damn creepiest hyde ive ever seen) and its bloody amazing just
watch it ok.

The Lorax
I mean, firstly its Dr. Seuss so already a great start. They all live in Thneedville and
everyone sings, and the Lorax has such a cute fluffy moustache, plus all of the morals.
Seen it a good 8 times cant get enough.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

About a scientist whos dad just wants him to carry on his sardine business. Then he
makes the FLDSMDFR that turns weather into food, but the main selling point is the
monkey obsessed with gummy bears with a thought translator. Also Mr. T is in it.

Dodgeball
I will actually be so surprised if you havent seen this, its like the go-to end of term
lets-put-on-a-film film, and it has Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller playing the characters
they always play. And it teaches you all about the 5 Ds of dodgeball: dodge, duck, dip,
dive and dodge.

Deadpool
An obvious choice, but an excellent film, with the most fourth-wall breaks you could
get in a film. Also Ryan Reynolds could not have been a better fit for deadpool, hands
down funniest film of 2016.

Interstellar
Another long haul, but lots of spacey timey-wimey stuff involving wormholes, black
holes and other space stuff. Takes a while to get started but then eventually all that
stuff that seemed irrelevant makes sense.

Spirited Away
Generally considered a great intro to anime if you havent already been drawn in.
Dont worry its not weird anime, although its still very Japanese. Involves people
turning into pigs, a boiler man with too many arms, a MASSIVE baby and some
seriously good piano music by Joe Hisaishi. Also if you enjoy this one, Princess
Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, and Howls Moving Castle are three great ones to look
out for.

Whiplash
This film is a joke. Unnecessarily dramatic and entirely unrealistic to anyone with any
musical education, but a good watch all the same. Side note: anyone whose hands
bleed because theyre drumming so fast clearly has terrible technique and should not
be at such a prestigious fictional music school in the first place.

Inception
You shouldnt need any persuasion to watch this.

Kingsman
Colin Firth being an massive badass, Samuel L Jackson as a James Bond villain, heads
exploding to pomp and circumstance. 10/10

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Another Alexandre Desplat score, but lets face it what isnt these days, and its a good
one. Stop-motion animation, based on the Road Dahl book (obviously) but I should
warn you it is a bit trippy.

Airplane!
So this is OLD, like 80s old, but its seriously one of the funniest films Ive seen.
Essentially a parody of every disaster film ever made. 5/7 perfect score.

South Park Movie

You don't even need to have seen south park to appreciate this film. America tries to
sentence two Canadians to death which somehow makes satan break up with Saddam
Hussain and take over the world. Oh, and its also a beautiful musical with a les-mis-
one-day-more-style mashup.
