Check with your school where you are student teaching or
some other school about which assessment is used for Cognitive assessment and one for achievement. Report something about each.
In the school I am student teaching in, they use different
assessments for cognitive assessment and then for achievement test. They use the WISC-IV for cognitive assessment. This test was chosen by the school district but the school psychologist they have given this assessment to students who qualify for cognitive disabilities. Within this test is verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed.
For the achievement part, the school uses the KTEA
Achievement test which involved reading, math, written language and oral language. They have said this tests works for them because it breaks it down into separate categories for them to understand which area the student is struggling with.
