REPORT ON UTCS TRAINING ON COMMUNICATION SKILL

A Training program on communication skills had been organised by


Directorate of Training, UTCS at Karkardooma on 17 th and 18th
November, 2016. The participants included officials from Dte. Of
AYUSH (Homoeopathic Wing), Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Police. The
objective of the programme was to imbibe the methods that can
make our communication in day to day to life more impactful and
improve upon non-verbal presentation in official and personal
dealings.

The morning session of the first day was taken up by Ms. Navneeta
Mittal from 10 AM to 12:45 PM. She talked about Understanding
Communication and Communication processes, Types of
Communication and Technical aid to Communication. She beautifully
highlighted the significance of sharpening the communications skills
for optimising results in our day to day endeavours. The afternoon
sessions from 1:45 PM to 4:30 PM were taken up by Ms.Puja Thakur.
She elaborated on the methods of developing Essential
Communication skills. The importance of non-verbal and verbal
components of communication and listening skills were discussed.

The second day began with the morning sessions from 10 AM to


12:45 PM which were taken up by Sh.Vivek Chandwani on Methods
of Communication in the Government Sector. He stressed upon the
knowledge of technical terms and clarity in communicating without
assumptions or presumptions. Thereafter, the afternoon sessions
from 1:45 PM to 4:30PM were conducted by Ms.Nidhi Mehra on
Communication skills and Public dealing. She dealt with Basic Public
Dealing Techniques and how to deal with public effectively. She
emphasised on the value of patient listening and compassionate
attitude.

The training was very informative and furnished us with techniques


to make our communication, effective, result oriented and efficient.
