Personification of the glass persuading.

My glass shall not persuade me I am old, Glass=mirror

So long as youth and thou are of one date, He is saying that as long as his love is
young so is he.

But when in the times furrows I behold, He is old compared to her

Then look I death my days should expiate.He would use his death to pay off
his sins of loving her

For all that beauty that doth cover thee, Beauty masks her age

Her beauty is merely clothing to his love,


Is but the seemly raiment of my heart,the first thing he sees, but not the only thing
he cares about

Which in thy breast doth live, as thine in me,


He is saying that since his and his loves
How can I then be elder than thou art? heart both reside in the same place, so how
can they be different?

O therefore love be of thyself so wary,Telling her to be careful with her


love
He isnt careful with his love, wants her
As I not for my self, but for thee will, to be

He promises to keep her heart


Bearing thy heart which I will keep so chary
cautiously and not to break it.

As tender nurse her babe from faring ill.

Presume not on thy heart when mine is slain, He swears to keep her heart safe,
since his has been broken before.
He wants her not to worry about the
Thou gavst me thine not to give back again. tragedies of love.
