Jamestown and Werowocomoco

The event Im writing about is when Pocahontas and a few other Powhatan came over to
Jamestown to trade with the settlers after the fort burned down. The Powhatan traded
food and fur in exchange for beads and copper (chapters 17 and 18, pages 128 and 136).

Two themes that can be found in the book are perseverance and trust because Samuel
learned to survive in Jamestown by trusting people and working hard to achieve his goals.
Also, John Smith trusted the Powhatan and the settlers and he worked hard with the
settlers to keep them alive. That's how he earned their trust.

Two problems/conflicts were when the fort accidentally burned down and the natives were
spying on the settlers. One evening, some of the settlers left to look for rocks to see if
there was any gold in them and a fire was left burning which caused the fort to burn down.
The natives were spying on Jamestown so they could come up with a plan to attack them
when they least expected it (like when they were sleeping or when they were going to
trade).
