ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

PRIMARY SOURCES

Ambrose, Stephen. My Life as a Soldier in World War II. London: The Thames Press, 1969.

This is a description of the life of a World War II soldier who fought in Europe. I used it
to find the primary quotes in my paper and for information on tank warfare. It was very valuable
because it showed me the life of the average soldier.

Working and Saving an Oral History: the Scrap Metal Drives. Newsweek, 3 January 1996, 34
38.

This article described the scrap metal drives of World War II through interview with
people who were young boys and girls at the time. I used it for information on saving metals in
my paper. It was very useful because it was the only source I had with this information.

SECONDARY SOURCES

Carter, James. The Battle of the Bulge. History Today. June 1990, 45-54.

This is a detailed study of why the Allies won the Battle of the Bulge. It provided me
with some good quotes by soldiers who were there and information on the weather conditions. It
was very useful, my most valuable source.
