Phase Description

1. The first phase is a Mixed fill phase, which represent a specific time increment. During this
period, the reactor contentss are thoroughly mixed by the mixer, which is capable of
suspending all biological solids without aeration. Level sensing is used to override time at
greater than maximum design flow rates.

A. Initiation of step : End of Decant

B. Components :

Influent valve open

Air valve closed
Decant valve closed
Decant weir closed
Mixer on
Sludge Pump OFF
Blowers off

C. Override mechanism : Mix Fill float switch

2. The second phase is the REACT FILL phase and represents a specific rise in level in the
reactor basin and/or a specific field adjustable time period. This phase is time controlled to
maintain the dissolved oxygen level at a predetermined field adjustable level.

A. Initiation of step : End of Mix Fill

B. Components :

Influent Valve Open

Decant valve Closed
Decant Weir Closed
Mixer On
Sludge Pump Off
Blowers On

C. Override mechanism : React Fill Float Switch

Each blower is controlled by a set of 5 flip/flop timers to cycle the blower ON and OFF
independently of the other blower (s) through the react fill and react cycle phases.

3. The third phase is the REACT phase. During this phase influent flow maya be inhibited, and
this is the time when the final potion of the react period takes places. The level at this point
remains constant. The time period is field adjustable.

A. Initiation of step : End of React Fill
