Goodbye..Hello:
To serve as president of Rotary International is a colossal undertaking, one that cannot be truly
conveyed in images or words. A thousand images jostle together in my mind, a thousand recollections, a
thousand emotions. Together, they form a great mosaic; together, they show the bright and glorious work
done by the hands of all Rotary club members.
As this Rotary year draws to a close, I want to take the time to thank you, my friends around the world.
The personal commitment of so many of you in so many countries has made all the difference. Together, we
have made great strides and helped move this great organization of ours towards a bright, progressive future.
I am prouder than ever to be part of this great organization: one that makes the world not poorer,
but richer; replaces despair with hope; raises up those whom fate has brought low; and is a gift to so many,
while allowing each of us to Be a Gift to the World.

K.R. Ravindran

Today, we look ahead toward a Rotary year that may one day be known as the greatest in our
history:We know that if we want to see Rotary Serving Humanity even better in the years ahead,
well need more willing hands, more caring hearts and more bright minds to move our work forward.
Well need clubs that are flexible, so that Rotary service will be attractive to younger members, recent
retirees and working people. Well need to seek out new partnerships, opening ourselves more to
collaborative relationships with other organizations.
Looking ahead, we also see a clear need to prioritize continuity in our
leadership. We in Rotary are all playing on the same team, working toward the same goals. If
we want to reach those goals together, we all have to move in the same direction together.
Every day that you serve in Rotary, you have the opportunity to change lives. Everything you
do matters; every good work makes the world better for us all. In this new Rotary year, we all have
a new chance to change the world for the better, through Rotary Serving Humanity.

Dates: July 15 - 16, 2016. Host Club: RC East Davao
Venue: Waterfront Insular Hotel, Lanang, Davao City
AIMS/OBJECTIVES:
For the Rotary year 2016-2017, the District wishes to make sure that all clubs are properly trained/oriented on what is expected of them starting
from the first month of the rotary year. This is with regards to the following crucial activities:
1. Membership. 2. Public Relations. 3. The Rotary Foundation
This new approach is designed to strengthening and insuring the clubs future. It develops a team/core-group of Rotarians who have the
necessary know-how. The Governor requires the following club officers for RY 2016-2017 to attend:
1. President. 2. Membership Director. 3. Public Relation Officer. 4. TRF Director
The following are encouraged to attend: President-Elect, Secretary, and treasurer. Substitution of delegates with other officers/members will be
allowed. It is also hoped that the delegates are able to fellowship with other clubs. The effect is an increased chance that Rotarians would visit
other clubs, set up sisterhood agreements, joint projects, etc.
REGISTRATION FEE: Club Registration Fee ....................................................Php10,000.00/club (4 delegates)
Sending less than four (4) delegates does not lower the club registration fee.
Additional delegates attending would only need to pay the discounted seminar fee of Php2,300.00/pax.
ATTIRE: Club colors/uniform- smart casual; no shorts, sandals and sleeveless shirts
FELLOWSHIP: Boardwalk (white top with khaki bottoms/shorts)
WHAT TO BRING: One (1) Laptop; writing materials, written Club Plans and Programs for Ry 2016-2017,
and club Bannerette.

INSPIRATION & WISDOM

. . . Let each one examine his own work,

and then he will have rejoicing in himself
alone, and not in another. For each one
shall bear his own load. Let him who is
taught the word share in all good things
with him who teaches . . . Let us not grow
weary while doing good, for in due season
we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
