DearVaughnElementarySchool:

ItiswithgreatprideandexcitementthatIwritethisletterofintroductiontoyouasthe
newlyappointedPrincipalInternhereatVaughnElementarySchool.Iamhonoredto
havetheopportunitytolearnataschoolwithsucharichtraditionthathasproducedso
manyoutstandingstudentsinourschoolcommunity.

AsaproductoftheWarrenCountySchoolDistrict,mylifewasdeeplyenhancedby
manyclassroomteachersinourdistrict.Notonlydidtheyprovidemeasound
foundation,buttheyalsoinspiredmetorealizethataneducationismorethanjust
interactingwithlettersandnumbers.Ibelieveinourdistrictsomuch,thatIreturnedto
workhereupongraduationfrommyundergradstudies,servingasaPhysicsand
ChemistryteacheratWarrenNewTechnologyHighSchool.Ihavehadthehonorof
attendingandpresentingatvariouseducationalconferencesacrossthecountryandIm
extremelypassionateaboutruraleducationandsocialjusticestrendsacrossournation.I
aminmylastsemesterswithmygraduateprogramatNorthStateUniversitywhereI
studiedschooladministration.

Ianticipateamostsuccessfulyearwithyou,aswesupporttheacademic,social,and
emotionalgrowthofourscholarshereatVaughnElementarySchool.

Alongwithyou,IwillworkhardtocontinuethelegacyofsuccessestablishedatVaughn
bybuildingstrongprofessionalrelationshipswithparents,students,staff,andcommunity
stakeholders.Wewillcontinuetofocusoncharactereducationinitiatives,21stCentury
skills,fosteringanurturingsafeenvironmentforchildren,useofdatatoinform
instruction,andprovidingexciting,authenticandchallengingenrichmentopportunities
forallstudentsinourcommunity.
